I have returned from maternity leave, and will probably start out by blogging about work, as this seems All Very New again.

      Dear Mom,

Just a quick note (during work-time!) to let you know that I am still alive, but unfortunately unable to access Nature Network from home. Apparently this is a problem with my ISP, but I do find it slightly suspicious that it only seems to affect: Nature Network, our Protocols Network submission system, the manuscript tracking system and any Nature Protocols websites relating-to or produced-by movable type!

Unfortunately explaining my problems to HomeCall is like talking to (and getting angry with) a brick, so am not sure that I will be able to resolve this any time soon.

In the meantime, I am expanding my presence in FaceBook and YouTube as displacement activities. Which reminds me – I haven’t done anything on the Chemical Forums for a while either…

      Yours etc.

      Bronwen

This just happened to me when I tried to log into Nature Network, I kept getting a message saying that nature.com was down — which I knew it wasn’t as I was on it in another window. In the end, I logged in manually (not using the system’s memory of my name/password) and I got in OK. Just in case this helps you in future. On the other hand, your alternative activity of camera evisceration is fascinating!
