I’ve had some disagreements in the past with the noble editor of Lab Lit over what constitutes lab lit, but I’ve just read a book I’m sure Jenny would allow is the real thing, as there are no science fiction ventures, and one of the two main characters is a theoretical physicist (the other is his mother). It’s Tangled Roots by Sue Guiney (see my brief review here).
