angewandte Wissenschaften (applied sciences)
die Chemie (chemistry)
“makromolecular” is pronounced almost identically to the English word, except that the ‘u’ should not be pronounced like ‘you’ but without the ‘y’. The German ‘e’ at the end of words is not silent. When I tell a native English speaker how it is pronounced, what comes out is usually ‘a’. That’s not quite correct, but sufficient to be understood.

Thank you very much! (Mum, I got the chance to hear the words today!)
It is said that German has so strict a rule of pronunciation that you can just pronounce every word after learning that rule. But what if I don’t have that time to learn German? I just want to be more professional when a chemist call the names of leading journals in his field…
If I find the time this weekend I will record some sounds to give you a guide. You will find them at the crazy germans’s Power of Goo.
Andrew, if you still want to know: here are some sound files
Thank you very very very much!
