I got an invite to Sci-Foo 2009 the other day. I can’t wait to go. I hope some of you in NN land will be there as well. Let me know.
Cheers,

I wish! Doing my best Kermit impersonation right now
I went two years ago. It’s a wonderful experience. As soon as I arrived at the hotel and unpacked, I girded up my loins and gave myself a good talking-to. “None of this shrinking violet wallflower malarkey,” I said to myself, “this is a networking event. So I should leave the room, go up to the first person I see, and introduce myself.” Which is what I did. The person was none other than Dr B. Z. of Chapel Hill, NC. And my life hasn’t been the same since.
“And my life hasn’t been the same since.”
Mine, either ;-)
And that is a Good.Thing.
Gee – I have never been accused of being a “shrinking violet wallflower” so I am looking forward to diving into the networking. I hope that I am able to find a B.Z equivalent while I am there.
B.Z. – Go Tar Heels (although I did my post-doc at Duke).
So. Freakin’. Jealous.
