Frank Scherr's profile
What I do
Currently I’m undertaking my PhD on the fate of steroid hormones and their conjugates in the New Zealand environment. We try to reveal the environmental behavior of these compounds in order to be able to feed risk assessment models (e.g. Level III fugacity model).

Interests
My PhD is my main focus and I love to work in science. We’ll also do some ecotoxicological assays to complete the picture of steroid hormones in the New Zealand environment.
Apart from that I have a great interest in soil and fresh water ecology, sustainable knowlwedge creation and environmental and technology management.
Projects
- Sorption of steroid hormones and their conjugates from different mediator solutions
- degradation of hormones and their conjugates in soil
- transport of hormones in the soil
- alteration of soil biochemistry by cow urine
