    • Blogrolling

      Thursday, 19 Jun 2008 - 13:34 UTC

Nature Network, while I love it dearly, occasionally doesn’t cut it for me. I need a blogroll and I need it now, especially if I am to fulfill my new role as online community management intern (my job is cool, it’s true).

So here’s what I am going to do. I am going to fake a blog roll. I am going to make this post a repository of blogs that I am currently reading. I am not including Nature Network blog links since I read them all anyway (what? Have I not made it clear that I am a dork?), but I think an easily accessible list of NNBlog links would be a nice a nice feature as well. Maybe one day. Hint. Hopefully, the handy RSS feeds will keep people coming back to this blog post/list every time I update it.

I hope other people post such lists as well, as a blog post or as a response to the same "forum topic ":http://network.nature.com/forums/nnbloggername/1829in the NNBlogger group. In doing so, maybe we can integrate the outside science blogging world into our own and let a few more people know we are here.

Nice list, Anna. I am going to check these blogs out.
I believe that the upcoming NN platform will support blogrolls as well as other goodies. Is this right, uncle Matt and aunt Corie?

Yes, Massimo you’re right. Blogrolls on the way, not to worry. Now that Anna is on the NN staff, you guys now have an advocate on the “inside” and she has reminded us on more than one occasion how the blogging platform needs to be improved.

Oh, and just because you call me aunt doesn’t mean I’ll be handing out candy at the conference! :) We will have other goodies though…stay tuned.

By the by, wanted to point you (and Matt and Corie and any other interested parties) to AcademicBlogs.

I think the idea of having a wiki’ed blogroll is ideal for Nature Network. And centralized. What do you think?

Bora – That’s not a blogroll as much as the results of a Google search for “blog.” How on earth do you keep track (because I know that you do)?

          Ah – “The Borg”

No, not him (topical though) “but Him”

I apologise in advance for this “artists impression” (I must use smaller brushes) of someone.

This does however lead me to pimping the most fab recent track from Daft Punk in that of Robot Rock via YouTube.

Ditto that, Maxine. Sorry, Graham, I just don’t get it. (Glad it wasn’t just me!) Kinda creeped out, but not really getting it :)

Oh wait! There’s parts of Bora in there!

I am sort of starting to get it. Kind of.

Wow, Anna (I mean Dr. Anna), that a pretty short list of some lofty company you’ve put me in. Thanks!

Graham, that is awesome! It IS Bora. That explains his comprehensive grasp of the blogosphere.

          BINGO.

@ Anna – well done for “Oh wait! There’s parts of Bora in there!

I am sort of starting to get it. Kind of."

Steel coughs – take the name Bora and alter the last syllable to “g” – I trust you get the idea pic ??

Personally, I blame this fella for the earlier confusion in this thread. Thanks Abel.
