Which blog posts on Nature Network have received the most comments?
Inspired by Jenny hitting the big 1-0-0, I decided to see which blog posts have attracted the most comments since the NatNetiverse began. Five of the Top 11 (I like to be nonconformist in my stats) are either by Jenny or about her (Richard Grant’s Damsel in Distress). Sorry, Jenny, hope I haven’t made you blush, but you empirically rock.
My own humble efforts, despite blogging almost every day, have only racked up a measly maximum of 25. Must try harder, Brown, as my teachers used to say, and probably still do.
1. Jenny Rohn 109
In which I get into a little muddle about archiving
2. Jenny Rohn 84
In which I rhapsodize over my instruments
3. Jenny Rohn 66
In which I smile for the cameras
4. Jenny Rohn 63
In which I utterly fail to conceptualize
5. Richard Grant 47
On the care and training of students, especially the training
6. Henry Gee 46
On the manifestation of excrement
7. Anna Kushnir 41
I am not yelling. Not out loud.
8. Richard Grant 37
Damsel in Distress
9. Cath Ennis 34
Ashtrays and atheists
10. Richard Grant 33
On the difference
11. Bob O’Hara 32

I see a speaker for the blogging conference in my crystal ball…
But the discussion after her talk could wander a bit.
I heard a rumour that the date of the blogging conference has been set. Is this true?
Some of these posts are already Nature Network classics. And #7 is probably one of the Nature Network posts with the largest reaction from outside Nature Network.
@ Martin – good point
@ Matt – thanks Norris !
Yes, I’m blushing. But in a good way.

Jeez. A behavioural psychologist would have a field day.
Bees, meet honey.
And now this blog post equals its Book of Records predecessors. It may break that record too. I’m feeling meta tonight.
Are there stats available for most viewed blog posts? My most viewed flickr photos edge on the disturbing…
Maybe we should control for ‘meta’ and ‘social’ comments, Scott and Matt?
Because I’m sure most of the comments on my weblog are Gee and O’Hara chatting up Rohn.
Not me, guv. I’m just waiting for this ‘ere lift.

... not to mention Richard’s desire to view pet porn, and my desire to … er … supply it.
But Henry, there’s no need for you to satisfy Richard’s cough “desires” when he could easily browse the online pages of the likes of Labrador Retriever Monthly
Indeed, there’s at least four pages stacked full of top models.

Alternatively, he might like cough Dog Lovers Monthly
From the Readers’ Stories page:- (for real)
This is one of my XXXX, Dancer AKA Babydogfido. It was a slow day at work so we tried all the Halloween costumes in the store on her. Needless to say, she was pretty put out by the time we were done! But she’s a real trooper & does whatever I asked of her.
Oh crap. And I thought I’d cornered the market.
I say Henry, you’re going to have to raise your game.
Dear Mr R. Grant,
How’s about the truly seeeensational The Daily Duck
Mag wise, I offer 1/2 price of that beardy Cromer
crapcrab merchant. No pictures of naked Labradors. Not interested.
Let me see,
Four candles – no
Crunchy frog – no
So, apart from naked Labra’s, your boat may not be floated then?
Damn that Moriarty, he survived!!! My Spitfire awaits AGAIN.
Billhooks.
Stop! Stop! You’re reading the furniture!
