    • Nature Network bloggers to appear in book

We had some good news waiting in the inbox on returning from holidays. Four Nature Network bloggers will feature in a new book of science bloggery.

The anthology, called Open Laboratory 2007, is compiled by Bora Zivkovic, himself a well-known blogger. It will be released later this month and I’ll put the Amazon link up once it’s available.

The book contains 52 entries chosen from a pool of 450 nominations by a panel of judges. Nature Network has clinched seven of those entries – over 13% of the book. We’re very chuffed.

Jenny Rohn of UCL gets these four entries, chronicling her return to the lab after four years as a journal editor.

Nature’s Henry Gee gives a loving account of his daughter who has Asperger’s syndrome.

Deanne Taylor from Harvard School of Public Health talks about ways to improve faculty diversity.

Kristin Stephan, a graduate student from Tufts, highlights the difficulties for a PhD student in finding information about alternative, non-academic careers.

A big New Year’s well done to all four bloggers, and to everyone else who has made the Blogs section such an entertaining read.
