The Science Museum’s Antenna Gallery opened an intriguing, if predictably named, temporary exhibition today.

Oar-some, a look at 21st century rowing, showcases ‘the innovative rowing technology used by the Great Britain Rowing Team as they prepare for the 2008 Olympics’. The sports tech includes virtual reality goggles (sounds a bit 20th Century to me) and a biomechanical rowing boat. Experts, including GB gold medallists, will be on hand to answer questions.

The exhibit is sponsored by Siemens and runs till Thursday. If it’s a success, the curator should be thrown into the Thames in age-old coxing tradition.
