Imperial College continues to bridge disciplines. Hot on the heels of the new Institute of Systems Biology Imperial has just announced a new collaboration with its neighbour, the Royal College of Art (RCA), to form Design-London.

The £5.8 million multidisciplinary centre brings together the RCA, Imperial’s Faculty of Engineering and the Tanaka Business School. This triumvirate of innovation will see designers, engineers and business folk working together in unique collaborations.

The project is funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) and the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (NESTA).

Was I the only one to read the headline and think this would be an article about an RCA v Imperial pub competition of a game similar but different to snooker?

Multidisciplinarity is the way to go, as far as I can tell, so that sounds very exciting.

I still think they should have pool games though.
