New format for drinks evenings?

Thanks to everyone who’s attended one of our eight (count em) social evenings. It’s great to see such a mix each time.

The next one will be on 28 November.

We’ll be taking a break in December, but should be back in the new year.

This is a good point to ask you if you’d like to see a new format for the evenings. Should we try a different venue? If so, where? Would you like to see some kind of presentation or talk? Or should we leave things alone and carry on with the current format?

Any comments or suggestions welcome.

    • Oh… so sorry I am going to miss the last drinks event this year! I’m out of the country!

I quite like the current format for the drinks evening but a good idea might be for different colleges/universities to host one sometimes. Since you were researching the pubs around different Unis, it might be fun to go to them sometimes. Also this might get some more local crowds attending, especially those who don’t like travelling across London to get to the Lamb.
This type of format probably takes a lot more arrangement work so I’d only suggest it occasionally.

Wish everyone a happy time at the drinks tonight.

    • Oh No! I haven’t been to one yet!

Would it not be premature to change the format so soon?

When is the next one, btw?

    • We’re looking at kicking the series off again in mid-February, to coincide with the first birthday of Nature Network.

We won’t be playing with the format, but we will be changing the venue around. Watch this space for details about the next meetup soon.

    • Well…If anyone is at a loose end in January and wants to go for an informal drink and social, I’ll be at Skeptics in the Pub on the 19th to host a talk by a fully-fledged young-earth creationist. You’re all invited!

    • Any news of the next meetup? I’m itching to go.

I’ll be at the Penderel’s Tuesday the 18th if you’re still at a loose end.
