Thermal images of London

Oh! I did it! First time I have tried to put an image in a Nature Network post. Anyway, trying again to post a “General London Forum Entry” after the crashing failure of my previous attempt, I read today about Thermal Cities, London, a gallery of images of London from space, the air, or just from some high-up building.
I hope NN hasn’t already got a post about this somewhere, apologies if so.
You can see lots of lovely images, and read more about the project and how the images were created, here and on the other bits of the thermal cities website, which is apparently due to have a lot more pictures uploaded into it.

    • That’s amazing, Maxine! Thanks for posting, I’d never heard of this project, although I have a feeling I may have seen an example in the paper somewhere.

I liked the ones at London Zoo best – the pelicans are amazing, I never realised so much of their heat was concentrated in the head and neck. Or is that just an illusion because they have less padding there or something?

    • Maybe they have all been having a (hot cup of) tea break at the same time, Jo. Agreed, it is a lovely picture and presumably the reason is along the lines you suggest.

    • How the deuce have I not heard about this already? Thanks Maxine.

    • I think it is “old age lib”, Matt, i.e. to come clean, I read about it in The Times (ink on paper edition) today.

    • I see that it’s part of the London Festival of Architecture. I trawled through the entire catalog of 600 events, but failed to spot this one.
