DESCRIPTION:Dr Jennifer Greitschus will discuss the Drivers of Change progr
 amme\, a concept developed by the Foresight\, Innovation and Incubation tea
 m at the design and engineering consultancy Ove Arup and Partners. Drivers 
 of Change indicates key issues that will play a role in our future – clim
 ate change\, ageing population\, energy use\, water resources and connected
  communities\, to name but a few. Having launched Drivers of Change at the 
 Tokyo Designers’ Week\, Greitschus will present Japan’s relationship to
  the ongoing struggle against environmental problems.\n \nOve Arup and Pa
 rtners is a global design and business consulting firm. Amongst many other 
 projects\, Arup is well known for collaborating with contemporary artists a
 nd art institutions. Arup collaborated with Norman Foster on the constructi
 on of the Millennium Bridge\, they engineered the Sidney Opera House and Ta
 te Modern. Arup was also involved in a number of major artists’ projects\
 , such as Anish Kapoor’s Marsyas in the Tate Modern Turbine Hall and Anth
 ony Gormley’s recent installation Space Station. Every year Deputy Chairm
 an Cecil Balmond collaborates with the most renowned architects on the Serp
 entine Pavillion programme.\n \nDr Jennifer Greitschus is part of the For
 esight and Innovation team at the design and engineering consultancy Ove Ar
 up and Partners. Her recent projects have included editing the ongoing Driv
 ers of Change publications programme. In October 2006 she was joint winner 
 of the competition to design the interior of a shipping container for Tokyo
  Designers’ Week\, sponsored by Icon Magazine.\n \n
