DESCRIPTION:Abstract: As a background\, Japan has improved the road safety
performance by setting targets and by promoting various activities includin
 g encouragement\, enforcement\, education\, and engineering works.
\n
\nAft
er recent drastic achievements\, we still have to focus on high risk road s
egments and/or targets continuously. However it is difficult to identify po
tentially hazardous targets clearly because of the nature of accident occur
rence and fragmented statistical data. The basic generalized linear models
(GLMs) have been applied to evaluate historical progress on road safety per
formance in both aggregate and disaggregate level. Based on the results and
comparison to the U.K.\, some findings for the next step are shown in the
 seminar.
\n
\n
\n
