  television interviews as well as how to approach the written media with ne

\n• How to handle the medi
 a successfully - where the success lies and where mistakes are made. 
\n

 The interviews:
\n• Soft interview - aims to familiarise the interviewee 
 with media techniques.
\n• Tough interview - will cover a controversial i
 ssue of which the interviewee only has short notice. 
\n
\nEach interview w
 ill be discussed constructively and written feedback will be given. A crew 
 experienced in network television will record the interviews on VHS and a t
 ape will be given to the interviewee at the end of the session.
\n
\nAdvice
  and discussion on ways to deal with all branches of the media in a pro-act
 ive sense\, including discussion on how to translate an academic paper into
  an accessible form for the general public\, be they readers of the Times o
 r listeners to local radio.
