DESCRIPTION:The Calculating your carbon footprint course offers an introduc
 tion to the methods that can be used by organisations to estimate the carbo
 n dioxide emissions due to their activities. It is oriented towards those w
 ho are responsible for\, or wanting to:
\n• Understand how the carbon emi
 ssions that result from their organisation’s activities can be estimated.
 
\n• Quantify the environmental impact of their organisation’s activiti
 es. 
\n• Develop a strategy to reduce their carbon footprint and work tow
 ards being ‘carbon neutral’.
\n• Make the case for investment to redu
 ce their carbon emissions.
\n
\nThe aim of this course is to introduce the 
 concept of carbon footprinting by looking at methods of calculating and mon
 itoring the carbon emissions from a range of activities that are likely to 
 be relevant to any organisation\, and how to set realistic targets for redu
 cing these.

\n• Understanding the importance of 
 and the potential for reducing carbon dioxide emissions.
\n• Awareness of
  the range of direct and indirect sources of carbon dioxide emissions.
