Description

The impact of climate change is providing considerable focus on the use of energy and the carbon footprint of processes used in the environmental sector.

The government have set some challenging targets for carbon reduction. At the same time the water sector is trying to meet ever increasing EU quality standards, which will impose significant increases to energy budgets.

There is significant market opportunity for the UK to increase its global competitiveness in this area. The UK energy management market is forecasted to grow to £6.87bn by 2015. The renewable energy market is set to grow to £7.5 bn by 2015. The forecast for the water & wastewater treatment sector is growth to £10.3 bn by 2015.

In response to these challenges the conference aims to create a dialogue between industry and academia within the water & wastewater treatment sector, but also invites delegates from other sectors such as process and manufacturing industries, oil and gas, food, waste disposal, space, automotive , whose technology may be applicable within the environmental sector. The conference will also provide a showcase to present technologies to the water sector.
