Description
An overview of the Amazon ecosystem with an emphasis on the web of interactions between plants and animals; current trends in deforestation and efforts to conserve the forest, and a review of the effects on and challenges facing local peoples based on the lecturer’s extensive work on ethnobotany. He will also include some examples from his most recent work in the Atlantic rainforest of Misiones Province, Argentina.
