Professor Taleb will discuss the dominant role of the low probability, high impact events in historical, cultural and soci-economic life, and the cognitive and scientific biases behind our blindness with respect to the improbable, based on his book The Black Swan (Allen Lane, 2007).
Nassim Nicholas Taleb is the Dean’s Professor in the Sciences of Uncertainty at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.
