Clare Lloyd, Andrew Wardlaw and Trevor Hansel, chaired by Barry Kay: Eosinophils: Culprits or regulators in allergy and asthma?

The paradigm of the eosinophil as the cell responsible for pathology in allergy and asthma has come under scrutiny recently in the light of evidence that they may be playing a regulatory role in inflammation. Are eosinophils really responsible for the pathology of allergic responses or have we been blaming the firemen for the fire?
