Description

Research by teams at the Museum has pushed back the arrival of humans in Britain to an astonishing 700,000 years ago. We will see how Britain was so warm that people lived alongside
hippos and elephants, and at times so cold they shared it with reindeer and mammoths. Museum researcher Chris Stringer, Britain’s foremost expert on human origins, will discuss the evidence for the ancient human occupation of Britain and other aspects of this exciting area of Museum research.
