Our pets have senses that are very different to ours. For example a cat’s hearing is so sensitive that we can be in the same room as a cat yet have a completely different experience to that of our cats. This day will look at the senses of our pets and at ways in which we can use a better understanding of their world in the way we keep them and what we provide to keep them entertained.

Inga MacKellar will be the main speaker with a presentation by Francesca Riccomini.

The event will be fascinating for pet owners, trainers, fellow animal behaviourists, people involved with rescue centres, dog wardens, veterinary personnel, and anyone with an interest in animal behaviour.

The speakers:
Francesca Riccomini is an experienced veterinary behaviourist, a member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC), and writes for several feline publications including Your Cat magazine.

Inga Mackellar is a pet behaviour counsellor and member of the APBC. Inga has frequently appeared on local, national and regional radio (BBC Radio 4, BBC Southern Counties) as well as on TV. She is co-author of ‘The APBC Book of Companion Animal Behaviour’, having contributed a chapter on ‘The Importance of Positive Reinforcement’. Inga is the behaviour expert for Cat World magazine for which she writes a monthly feature as well as contributing to the ‘Ask the Experts’ pages.
