Description
Winners of Seedcamp 2007 will share their secrets with young aspiring entrepreneurs on how they made their mark. The free event is being hosted by Sun Microsystems at their London office from 6pm on Thursday 15 November as part of Enterprise Week.
The Seedcamp winners presenting at the event include:
• Buildersite – the “clicks and mortar” company, is a web-marketplace for construction services.
• Hypernumbers.com – making a spreadsheet out of the web and doing for numbers what hypertext did for text.
• Kublax – synchronizes personal financial data and presents the information in a visual, user-friendly format.
• Rent Mine Online – a web-marketplace facilitating the renting of private property and belongings.
• TableFinder – an online booking site for restaurant reservations anywhere in the world.
• Zemanta – a ‘content intelligence’ platform to enhance online content, adding useful links, keywords and images.
Reshma Sohoni from Seedcamp adds, “Seedcamp is very happy to support and participate in Enterprise Week. The target audience of university and college students is exactly the type of future entrepreneurs Seedcamp looks to support and encourage when they start their own companies. We believe this education and support are critical at the earliest stages of students considering various career paths. We hope Seedcamp and its participants can impart to students a full picture of becoming an entrepreneur.”
Stephen Alambritis, Chair of the Make Your Mark campaign responsible for delivering Enterprise Week, says: “Already over a third of young people feel they have the personal qualities needed to develop a business idea. During Enterprise Week we want to inspire even more people in their teens and twenties to have ideas and make them happen, whether they are starting their own business or social venture or by making their mark at work. It’s up to all of us – and especially teachers, parents and employers – to support them along the way.”
