Description

For many centuries, paper has been the most important carrier of information and it remains the most durable one. Its degradation, along with many other heritage materials of organic origin, depends mainly on its composition and to a lesser extent on the environment. Every three out of four books in European libraries are estimated not to survive another century, most from the period 1850 – 1990.

Will the 20th Century become a new dark age in human history?
