Sir John Rose, Chief Executive, Rolls-Royce Plc will present the 2007 Gabor Lecture.

Sir John Rose joined Rolls-Royce plc in 1984 and was appointed to its Board of Directors in January 1992, becoming Chief Executive on 1 May 1996. From 1989 until February 1994, Sir John was Director of Corporate Development. He became Managing Director of the Aerospace Group on 1 January 1995. From February 1993 until assuming his Deputy Managing Director role, he was also President and Chief Executive of Rolls-Royce Inc, responsible for Rolls-Royce activities in North America. Sir John is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and Chairman of the National Defence Industries Council (NDIC). He is a member of the JP Morgan International Council, the CBI International Advisory Board, the Advisory Board of the Economic Development Board of Singapore, the Englefield Advisory Board, the European Round Table of Industrialists and is a Trustee of the Eden Project. Born in Blantyre, Malawi, John earned his MA degree in Psychology from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. Sir John is married with three children.
