Description

Two decades of notes on HIV in London. Paul Ryan’s new solo exhibition gives a compelling insight into the HIV epidemic in London from 1986 to 2006. Sketches and diary notes he made throughout the period will be shown alongside framed works and a specially-commissioned wall drawing. Excerpts from 60 of his sketchbooks will chart the changing perceptions of HIV over the last two decades, from the frightening prognosis of the early years to the encouraging recent advances in antiretroviral treatments that have given people back their lives.
