Description

The growth of research in affective computing has raised the issue of how emotion can be integrated into autonomous intelligent agents. In this talk we examine two contrasting approaches with an implemented example of each: the high-level cognitive appraisal approach, and low-level approaches inspired by neuro-physiology. We ask if these contrasting approahes can or should be combined.
