Description

WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?
A one-day workshop exploring identity and self-image through self portraiture

Wednesday 8 and 15 August 2007
10.30 – 16.00 (with a lunch break)

A self portrait does not have to be a physical likeness of the artist. Images which make reference to personality, interests and memories can be used to build-up a vivid picture of a person.

By collecting images from magazines and other printed matter, participants on the workshop will have an opportunity to make an intriguing collaged self portrait. Materials will be provided, but students are also encouraged to bring any paper material which they may like to include in their self portrait.

This fun and creative workshop is related to the ongoing exhibition, also at the Hunterian Museum, A Visible Difference, Skin race and identity, 1720 – 1820
