Description
The series of International Conference on Optical, Optoelectronic and Photonic Materials and Applications (ICOOPMA) arises from a need for those researchers interested in an international forum of scientists and engineers to cover a wide range of materials and applications in optics, optoelectronics and photonics. The first meeting, ICOOPMA 2006, took place at the picturesque Charles Darwin University, Darwin, Australia during the week of 16 – 20 July 2006, attracting about 150 participants from all five continents. The local organising committee chaired by Professor Jai Singh ran an excellent meeting. There were two parallel sessions covering a very wide range of optoelectronic materials, from photovoltaic to display materials, with over 40 invited papers. The conference was sponsored by Charles Darwin University, Australian Research Council’s Nanotechnology Network, Springer (USA), Wiley (Chichester, UK), OzOptics (Canada), and Perkin Elmer. The conference was very successful in fulfilling its objective of bringing together researchers in this field from all over the world to exchange new ideas, and present their results in a congenial atmosphere and at an attractive location that entices people to visit.
ICOOPMA 2007 which is the second in the series will be held in London. London is the largest city in Europe offering a great mixture of cultures and unique experiences for visitors of all ages to enjoy its art galleries, museums and exciting buildings and monuments of historical importance.
We aim to widen the scope of conference by including new topics relevant to this conference and endeavour to support aspiring young researchers’ participation via workshop, competitive poster session, and lecture competition. Papers will be published in a special issue of the journal of materials science: materials in electronics Springer science subject to rigorous peer-review.
