Chemical engineers play a global role in providing solutions to the challenges facing people around the world. Global Forum 2007 will provide a platform for IChemE members worldwide to discuss and debate these issues.

This two day event, previously known as ‘Assembly’, has been structured to provide varied content and global relevance. Web casting of the event will allow access to members worldwide with delegates able to actively participate by submitting questions both prior to and during the event.

Global Forum 2007 will also play a key role in celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of the Institution being granted its Royal Charter.

The programme of events will include:
> A comprehensive technical programme built around the launch of the Institution’s Technical Roadmap position statements.
> The launch of the Institution’s Jubilee Report which will include key conclusions from its technical strategy review and ideas for action.
> Presidential Address given by Dr Ramesh Mashelkar FRS FREng followed by a drinks reception and dinner.
> The Global Forum Debate – “Is the Chemical Engineering profession ready to meet the challenges of the next 50 years?”

The Institution’s AGM and medals presentation.
Delegates attending the event can also attend career development sessions which will include Get Chartered seminars, a change management seminar organised by the Project Management Subject Group and career advice sessions.
