66 years after the Spitfire was at the forefront of the nation’s victory in the Battle of Britain, the Science Museum takes visitors inside the legendary plane in a spectacular new exhibition. A deconstructed Spitfire offers a once in a lifetime view of this icon of design and engineering, together with the stories behind the legendary designer RJ Mitchell and the thousands of people who built and flew these magnificent planes.
