Want to be a Scientific Editor in New York?

After working at the lab bench for longer than I care to remember, entering the world of scientific editing has been extraordinarily rewarding and more exciting than I ever would have imagined.

I have to admit though that this never would have happened if not for my wife’s prodding and a job opening in 2004 at a new journal based in New York called Nature Methods. While working in New York was never high on my list of desires (having lived in Philly for 14 years) it certainly has its perks.

Well…there is a job opening for an Assistant Editor at Nature Methods again and if you live in (or near) New York and have a passion for scientific methods I can’t think of a better way to enter the world of scientific editing. Methods development seems to be taking center stage in a number of areas and pushing the boundaries of what scientists can do. Being an integral part of this movement is certainly never boring.

Check out the job ad at Naturejobs and see what you think.
