So, has anyone tried the new telectroscope near City Hall?

I popped down at the weekend. The giant steampunk contraption allows you to comunicate visually with New Yorkers huddled round a similar device near Brooklyn Bridge, via a ‘long-forgotten transatlantic tunnel’. Being British, we have to pay and queue, whereas our American buddies get it for free.

Most people are content to hold up a sign saying ‘London calling’ or something equally banal, but there’s talk of a transatlantic dance-off between New York and London bloggers.

I think us scientists should do something clever. Any ideas?
