Description

Depression cannot be described any longer as a simple disorder of the brain, but rather as a series of behavioural and biological changes that spans mind, brain, genes, body – and indeed affects both psychological and physical health. This unique conference will bring together the world leaders in research on depression, to discuss, for the first time in an interdisciplinary setting, both classical and innovative ideas to understand this devastating disorder.

The experts will present neurobiological, psychological, genetic and evolutionary models, with a particular emphasis on the mechanisms linking the brain to the endocrine and the immune systems, and therefore linking depression to physical health. The conference will reach out to clinicians and scientists from a diverse range of backgrounds, and we are confident that the way speakers and delegates think about depression will be enriched and transformed by this vibrant interactive conference.
