Description
Keeping up to date in medicine is a constant challenge for busy GPs. Our essential two day General Update, refreshed for 2009, makes it easy for you to get to grips with the latest advances in the clinical management of conditions you encounter every day.
Working with the editors of leading BMJ Journals and a GP advisory board, we are able to bring the best possible speakers together under one roof. Our speakers are not only experts in their fields but also excellent teachers, who know exactly what GPs want and need to know. They will guide you through the latest evidence, guidelines, and best practice in a motivating and interactive format, with time to ask even the trickiest of questions. You can relax in the knowledge that your time out of the practice will be well spent.
Programmes 1 and 2 cover six important clinical topics each, and you can attend both days, or just one. Whatever your learning needs, this update will change your everyday practice and give you greater confidence in managing your patients.
You will also receive our popular course handbook for each day that you attend, covering new guidelines, practical management tips, key references, and commonly asked questions, exclusive to you as a delegate.

Additional information
What’s new for 2009?
Two new topics – The 2009 programmes will cover two brand new topics, as requested by you – the interpretation of lab results and polypharmacy. These case based workshops will help you to deal with the uncertainty often faced in challenging cases, giving you greater confidence in the diagnosis and treatment of your patients.
Refreshed content – Both programmes have been updated with the latest evidence and new guidelines for 2009. Our expert speakers will draw attention to the hot topics that GPs need to know about. If you have attended this masterclass before, our refreshed programmes will build on what you have already learnt and highlight recent developments.
Audience response – In 2009, you will have the chance to interact with your colleagues and expert speakers with our handheld electronic devices. Participate in quizzes and polls, and compare your views and experiences with those of your colleagues. A new, enjoyable way to reinforce your learning!
