Description
We are pleased to invite you to the sixth annual conference of the British Society for Gene Therapy (BSGT). The imaginative Scientific Committee, led by Professor George Dickson, has produced a topical and diverse programme which is sure to stimulate debate and the ready exchange of ideas and opinions. None of which would be as free-flowing or enjoyable without the friendly and inclusive atmosphere that BSGT conferences engender!
We are looking forward to hearing from high profile national and international researchers, who will detail progress and new developments in this rapidly evolving field. In addition, an education session aimed at students and researchers who are new to the field will provide an introduction to key techniques and developments. The main Conference Sessions will also include short oral presentations selected from the proffered abstracts and a generous prize for the best presentation, not to mention the Fairbairn Award for UK-based PhD students or researchers who submitted their PhD in the last 3 years.
All this amidst the stunning wooded parkland of the 135 acre RHUL campus, conveniently located with good access to Heathrow airport (20 minutes drive) and central London (40 minutes by train.) The conference will be held in the Windsor Building, a specially designed conference centre at the heart of the campus, equipped with a 400 seat lecture theatre, and ample light-filled space for the poster sessions, exhibition and networking. Comfortable accommodation is conveniently provided for delegates on-site. You are also invited to join us for a drinks reception in the famous Founder’s Building, one of the most spectacular university buildings in the world.
BSGT is also passionate about working to improve the public and media perception and understanding of gene and cell therapy. Key to this will be the BSGT Public Engagement Day, ‘Journeys in the Genetic Jungle – Gene Therapies and Stem Cell Therapies for the 21st Century’ which will take place on Tuesday 21st April 2009.
Whether you’re looking for an update on key developments in the field, focussed discussions or easy networking opportunities I am confident that the BSGT annual conference will exceed your expectations.
