Description
The brain is an amazingly complex organ. Not only does it keep us alive, it also lets us run a marathon or thread a needle. It tells other parts of our bodies how they need to move by sending signals, which can travel at up to 268mph, through a web of neurons. But sometimes these communications channels breakdown, and tonight’s event will look at different types of movement disorders and how researchers are trying to model human movement in order to gain a better understanding of these connections. Through these computer models, researchers hope to gain new insights to movement impairment, which in turn will help them develop better tools for diagnostics and neural rehabilitation.
