Description

Meteorite impact sites are not always as obvious as you might imagine – not all are enormous craters. Darwin’s Crater in Tasmania is one of these – isolated and over grown in a national park, signs it is there are spread far and wide, while the site is hidden from view. Join us to explore how scientists have uncovered this unusual impact crater through painstaking fieldwork and handle glass formed on impact, known as Darwin glass. This event is part of Darwin200, a national celebration of Charles Darwin’s ideas and impact around his two hundredth anniversary.
