OBJECTIVES
• To update delegates on the progress of the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) – part of the National Programme for IT and explore the practicalities involved in terms of community pharmacy services in England.
• To discuss how pharmacists can rise to the challenges that these radical changes will bring and explore innovative ways to ensure business continuity.
• To examine in workshop sessions the importance of information governance and consider the implications of role-based access to the Summary Care Records for community pharmacists.
• To equip delegates with enhanced knowledge on e-care pathways and consider how the Map of Medicine and NHS Choices can support pharmacists in delivering healthcare to the community.
