Description

This is a two day technical course and site visit examining waste anaerobic digestion, municipal sewage sludge digestion and codigestion with a particular focus on optimising digestion and biogas production through the use of digestion pre-treatments. The course will examine the following topic areas:

-fundamentals and operation of anaerobic digestion and co-digestion to improve biogas quality and quantity
-mechanical, ultrasonic, thermal and biological pre-treatments their application and operation principles
-site visit to Anglian Water’s Cambi plant
the use of pre-treatments and digestion for alternative end products.

Who should attend?
These courses are designed for operators, utility managers, process engineers, consultants, contractors, regulators and researchers in the water and waste sectors.

A basic background knowledge of sludge and waste treatment is assumed and an engineering or technical background is helpful.
