China Landscape represents a unique partnership between the British Museum and the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, celebrating a shared vision to strengthen cultural understanding and support biodiversity conservation across the world.

Located in the British Museum’s forecourt, the landscape features elements of a traditional Chinese scholar’s garden and explores the medicinal benefits, economic properties, artistic influences and cultural traditions of plants and shrubs from western China.

Admission to the China Landscape is free, just drop in to the West Lawn in the Museum forecourt.

Daily 10.00-17.30 Open late on Thursdays and Fridays until 20.30. Please note that the China Landscape will close at dusk when this occurs before the normal closing time.
