This is a key day, as part of the strategy for presenting the portfolio of research in cardiovascular sciences and an integral component of the evolving Cardiovascular Institute. The meeting will be opened by the Provost, Professor Malcolm Grant and this year we hope that Sir James Black (Nobel Laureate, KCL) will present the poster prizes. Also in attendance will be Professors Peter Weissberg and Jeremy Pearson, Medical Director and Assistant Medical Director of the British Heart Foundation respectively.

The plenary UCL Cardiovascular Science Lecture will be given by Professor Michael Schneider, recently appointed Head of Cardiovascular Sciences at Imperial College.
