DESCRIPTION:This popular and successful Summer School\, supported by the Ec
 onomic and Social Research Council\, is intended for MPhil/PhD students reg
 istered at UK Universities who are undertaking research on topics relevant 
 to public policy. You may\, for example\, be exploring the nature of policy
  issues or policy processes\, comparing policy over time or between countri
 es\, analysing policy delivery or evaluating policy performance.  The Schoo
 l is open to postgraduates from any discipline\, working in any field of pu
 blic policy. The School is run by the Centre for Evidence and Policy at Kin
 g's College London and led by the Centre Director\, Professor Charlotte Hum
 phrey.\n\n \n\nThe School has three aims:\n\n  a.. to enhance student
 s' perspectives on how policy is made and delivered in fields relevant to t
 heir research\n  b.. to introduce students to the sources they will need t
 o access for policy relevant research and the challenges these pose for res
 earchers\n  c.. to develop students' skills in the methods and techniques 
 appropriate to undertaking policy relevant research.\n The five-day progra
 mme comprises a mix of presentations by course staff\, exercises (including
  discussion groups and hands-on practice with sources and methods)\, and se
 minars with expert outside speakers.  Participants will receive a course pa
 ck with reference material for retention. \n\n \n\nThe School will be h
 eld at King's College London's campus at Waterloo in central London.  Resid
 ential accommodation is not provided\, but is available to book on campus i
 n single en-suite study bedrooms for those who require it.  All disability 
 can be accommodated and most areas of the campus are accessible. Please ind
