Description

> Where will we build 3 million new homes in 12 years?
> Is the Green Belt still justified today?
> Are we in danger of building the ‘slums of tomorrow’?
> Are the Home Counties becoming literally just that – homes?

As part of 21st Century Challenges, the Society’s new flagship public engagement series, Simon Jenkins (Guardian columnist) will chair
Sir Peter Hall (urban geographer & Town & Country Planning Association Chairman) & Martin Crookston (Director of Llewellyn Davies Yeang,
urban economist & town planner) discussing how to accommodate South-East England’s housing expansion. Issues will include brownfield versus greenfield sites, eco-towns, community cohesion and purposeful architectural design.
