Dr Johannes Vogel introduces the Botany Department’s evening by looking at our green planet. This is followed by Dr William Purvis on who explores lichens in a changing urban environment, Dr Mark Carine talks about the botany of a holiday hotspot – discovering the Canary Islands flora, and Dr Juliet Brodie concludes with Cold finger: tales of a seaweed hunter from Chile to the Arctic.

Discover some highlights of the Museum’s scientific research in this series of six evening lectures. Each lecture explores the work of a scientific department with an introduction by the department head, followed by fully illustrated talks from scientists and research staff.

Lectures begin at 19.00 and end at 21.00. Doors open at 18.00 for light refreshments and the chance to view a selection of Museum specimens. Suitable for adults and children aged 14 and over.
