“I have broken my arm – I am a dead man!” Demonstrations of Victorian surgery, when operations were performed without anaesthesia, and a patient’s only relief from agony was the speed of the surgeon’s knife… A real amputation kit awaits…!

Come to the Old Operating Theatre Museum this half-term for hands-on activities on surgery, herbal medicines and the power of blood! Children’s trails, including herb grinding and pill-making, are available all day, every day, and bags provided for kids to take their herbal remedies home.
