Description

The mineralogy collection at the Natural History Museum has more than 250,000 specimens, many of which are hundreds of years old. Each has a story, but a few have a darker past. What’s the story of the ‘accursed amethyst’ and how did it come to be in our collections? And what is the origin of the crystal skull? Join mineralogy curator Michael Rumsey as he delves into the dark histories of some of our specimens.
