Dr Marcus du Sautoy, Professor of Mathematics, University of Oxford, presents this special lecture on: “Finding Moonshine: a mathematician’s journey through symmetry,” in association with the Royal Institution and HarperCollins.

Biography: Marcus du Sautoy is a professor of mathematics at the University of Oxford. His research interests include understanding the world of symmetry using zeta functions, a classical tool from the number theory. His work uses a wide range of methods including p-adic Lie groups, model theory, algebraic geometry and analytic methods. As well as writing many academic articles and books on mathematics, he is author of the best-selling popular mathematics book; ‘The Music of the Primes.’ Marcus writes for The Times, Daily Telegraph, Independent and the Guardian and is frequently asked for comment on BBC radio and television.
