Description
Some of you may be aware that we are part way through a project to install a major new computational facility for the use of UCL researchers. When it enters service early next year, this facility (named ‘Legion’) will be the most powerful University based High Performance Computing (HPC) service in the UK.
This project has been funded by SRIF3 and run under the guidance of the Research Computing Sub-Committee. All systems will be hosted and administered by UCL Information Systems.
Some general and background information about the Legion project is available at http://www.ucl.ac.uk/media/library/Dell and http://www.ucl.ac.uk/news/news-articles/0709/07091903
Access to Legion services will generally be ‘free at the point of use’ for users with low to moderate requirements for computational services. Assistance for new users, with issues such as code porting, optimisation and application design is available.
