The Effect of Area-wide Pedestrianisation linking between Town Centre Attractions
This study examines the effect of an area-wide pedestrianisation scheme linking between town centre attractions on accessibility and commercial land-use. The overall research question is whether area-wide pedestrianisation can be more effective than individual pedestrianisation. The examination is made by developing pedestrian flow model and commercial land-use model with multiple regression analysis.

Exploring Children’s walking pattern in urban area
This talk will discuss how children move around on foot in the modern urban setting. By equipped children with Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) monitors and energy expense monitors, We obtained 82 children’s walking trajectories and physical active levels at the same time. The first part of talk will focus on a fine- scale analysis of children’s walking habits in terms of the angles they turns, energy consumed, speed and their access to open spaces during the walking under the different independent status (ie. Accompanied by adult or not). Then the geo-visualisation technique as an effectively tool is applied in the second part of talk to display the children’s mobility on foot in a larger scale.
